In respect to persons providing detail on the Tyremart website for the purpose of obtaining a quote, Tyremart protects this information with the same due care as done with any other personal information; and this information will only be used to identify your needs and to provide the appropriate information to satisfy those needs.
In respect to Tyremart Franchisees, comprehensive business-related detail is kept, including but not limited to company details, particulars of directors, other principals and staff, banking account, Vat and SARS compliance details, product sales, purchasing & stock details; and more. In respect to Franchise Applicants, all detail requested to consider an application for a Tyremart Franchise concession is, if the application is unsuccessful, destroyed as soon as the applicant is made aware of the decision.

PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION & CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

PURPOSE OF THIS CODE OF CONDUCT:

The TYREMART Prevention of Corruption & Conflict of Interests Code is intended:

to provide measures to prevent and combat corruption, corrupt activities and any conduct that could amount to a conflict of interest between employees and the employer, as well as other parties involved in a business relationship with the employer;
to define what conduct in the workplace will constitute corruption, corrupt activities and conflicts of interest;
to provide for the offences of corruption and offences relating to corrupt activities in the workplace.
to place a duty on employees to report certain conduct.

NO BENEFITS MAY BE RECEIVED BY THE EMPLOYEE OR ANY OTHER PERSON:

Without the prior written approval of the employer, no employee may directly or indirectly accept or agree to accept offers of any reward, gift, gratification or hospitality from person other than what is due to the employee by the employer as remuneration or reward in terms of the contract of employment.

This prohibition applies both to a benefit for himself / herself and for the benefit of any other person, natural or juristic.

NO BENEFITS MAY BE OFFERED OR GIVEN TO ANOTHER PERSON:

No employee may give or agree or offer to give to any other person any gratification, favour, benefit or reward for the benefit of that person or any other person, with the intention to or in order to influence the other person to act in a way that:

is illegal, dishonest or biased;
results in a favour or any gratification being given to the employee in return to which he / she is not otherwise entitled in terms of the contract of employment;
constitutes misuse or selling of information or material acquired in the course of employment;
amounts to a breach of trust between the employee and the employer or any other person who is a supplier to or client or competitor of the employer;
constitutes abuse of a position of authority;
is a violation of a legal duty or set of rules;
amounts to unauthorised or improper inducement to do or not to do anything that will result in a favour or any gratification.

CONSEQUENCES OF CONTRAVENTION OF THIS CODE:

Acts of Corruption and Conflict of Interest are generally accepted as a serious enough offence to merit possible dismissal.

An employee who engages in conduct in contravention of these prohibitions will be subject to disciplinary action that may result in dismissal.

Depending on the nature of the conduct, such employee also be subject to criminal and/or civil action.

UNDERTAKING BY EMPLOYER:

The employer confirms that the content of the TYREMART CODE OF CONDUCT – PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION has been brought to the attention of and explained in understandable terms & language to every employee and that each employee has indicated that he/she understands the purpose and content thereof.
